Contrary to the views of Peace Love and Understanding and erwinhaaslibertarian, this is actually a seriously thoughtful evolution of socio-economic solutions to an evolving world. There is no co-opting of a popular message, Rubio is still trying to evaluate and articulate the problems of the negatives to globalisation and then envisage some workable solutions - not stop gaps, stop the world and reverse or other half-baked dogma but, answers to what to do for the future and how to retain the dignity and cohesion of those who are adversely effected. erwinhaaslibertarian admits to not even having read the entire transcript and appears to be dismissive of Rubio as a pure publicity hound and pawn of others - if the guiding principle for any discussion by the centre-right is to parade your prejudices first and then assert that "Maybe if TE would stop creating their left wing utopia for us serfs and just report the news that way that it did 20 years ago, with wit and skepticism, it might become interesting again.", there will be no discussion and definitely no ideas of how to address the problems of the 21st century, let alone of those disadvantaged socially and economically by globalisation.

Well, I see that our betters have selected Marco Rubio to be their next hobby horse; I see his name on the front page of the NYT and now on TE. An invisible hand coordinates these fads.
I tried to read this playdough but lost interest half way through. Young Marco is pushed into denouncing the Republicans, repeatedly says that he wants to create an ideal world, better training for displaced workers and better lives for poor folks and the like, and allies himself with “liberty” although he seems to define it as better jobs, or something…

The Interviewer repeatedly seems to cut him off, although that may be from editing out even more maudlin fluff.

Well it’s nice to know who has been crowned as the next “conservative” fall guy. TE, WaPo, the NYT and the rest poured out all of their spleen on DT and look where it got him. Maybe if TE would stop creating their left wing utopia for us serfs and just report the news that way that it did 20 years ago, with wit and skepticism, it might become interesting again.

But the current snooze will not sell papers the way DT did.

Marco does what he is told to do. Tedious reading.

When a politician claims his views are "evolving" it is a safe bet he is fraudulently co-opting a popular message so that he can continue supporting the interests of the same oligarchs (cough Norman Braman cough cough) who put him in power in the first place while hopefully tricking a bunch of poor saps into thinking a single thing has actually changed.
All these people must go, Rubio included. There is not an honest one left in the bunch. The American political system is corrupted to its very core by concentrated capital's power to purchase our elected representatives and therefore to purchase public policy out from under the people.
