Pretty stupid movement. Why aren't they demanding accountability of the real enablers of the Parkland attack, the FBI and Florida Sherrif's Department?
Symptom or disease? American gun violence indicates a society that values power over empathy and absolute moral over humanity. A world filled completely with advertisement is a world that is completely fake.
Yes Erwin, anyone who supports gun control is a Nazi. Accordingly every other Western country is controlled by Nazis.
Your proposal to make it illegal for African-Americans to purchase firearms violates the 14th amendment and would be struck down by the courts. Get yourself informed on more than one amendment.
Well!! Let's tell the TRUTH!!
Exposed crisis actor David Hogg, the school mass shooting extraordinaire/teen propagandist/"Gun Control" proponent, has been confirmed to be associated with John Podesta's Public Policy "think tank," Center for American Progress. Hogg's mother is employed by CNN and his father is an ex-FBI agent.
One of the largest of these highly organized groups responsible for these recent engineered student demonstrations is called EVERYTOWN for Gun Safety Support Fund, a SuperPAC 501 (c)(3) that purportedly "...seeks to improve our understanding of the causes of gun violence and the means to reduce it..." Warren Buffet and NYC Mayor Michael Bloomberg are among those on the Advisory Board.
EVERYTOWN is directly linked to Every Voice dot org, a 501 (c)(4) "social welfare" organization that is funded by several prominent figures, most notable Jonathan Soros and also by George Soros himself through his Open Society organization.
The recent onslaught of younger and younger students who are joining together demonstrating in highly orchestrated Walk-outs to protest "Anti-gun violence" is astonishing. And very alarming indeed. Let's draw some significant historic parallels:
Communist China's cataclysmic and HORRIFIC "Cultural Revolution" (1967-1977) that was engineered by the savage dictator Mao Zedong, along with his many utterly brutal counterparts within the Chinese COMMUNIST party was in great part carried out by it's public schools' PRODUCTS, ie. the students themselves.
Through public schooling system, the hugely successful brainwashing and mind control programming propaganda campaignsdid in fact and in deed produce the most deviously effective, the most useful and the most necessary of WEAPONS to achieve the Communist goal of total control by using the Chinese people themselves, particularly the YOUTH, as the ultimate WEAPON to carry out the totalitarian Communist agenda.
China's use of the many freshly indoctrinated and thoroughly programmed youth during this violent social engineering campaign was seen in China's "Red Guards" which were comprised of rabidly eager and totally mind-controlled (YES, brainwashed) TEENAGERS.
These youth were given virtually unlimited POWERS to carry out the COMMUNIST GOAL of outright TERROR on it's population. The Red Guards were afforded any and all means necessary to carry out this vicious agenda against even the senior citizens, including arbitrary censorship, vicious bullying, unrelenting beatings, harassment and stalking, public humiliation, false accusations, harsh terms of exile and finally life imprisonment.
All other forms of physical and mental torture and frequent "suicides" and assassinations became the norm against all Chinese society and against China's entire population. And it worked like a charm.
So, actually, it's quite a bit like Hitler's Youth Brigades and Mao Zedong's Red Guards.
The YOUTH are NOT ADULTS!!! They should NOT be "given" ANY "AUTHORITY."
As any one knows, ANY "authority" or "power" handed over to sniveling children or crazed teenagers is exactly like giving a two year old child a fully loaded shotgun.
By the way, I am certain that nearly all of the censorship going on across the internet is being carried out by young power-tripping thugs.
Probably for Europeans the most mystifying aspect of the US is there insistence on their right to have firearms, from the Second Amendment.
But Europeans love to sell guns to the US Consumer.
Europe's flourishing gunmakers - Trigger happy
Feb 24, 2018
"Foreign firms' share of American firearms sales rose from 10% in 1980 to a peak of 45% in 2007, before dropping to 33% in 2016. The lion's share of these came from Europe, which accounted for three-quarters of the 3.7m imported handguns in 2016, for example. Austria alone, home to Glock..."
I wouldn't worry about Trump slapping a tariff on imported guns.
So the young generation is angry that their fellow peers are getting weapons and killing them en masse.
Then the shooters - who probably had more shiny objects growing up than previous generations - are said to be "disturbed."
Sounds like a cultural or generational thing.
Maybe it's a social media thing where the shooters don't talk to real people, seeing others as caricatures on social media.
Maybe someone should do a study to see if there is a link between the total number of social media accounts (snapper, twits, bookfaced, etc.) and the number of mass shootings by the young.
All bets are off is someone is "disrespected."
Man charged with attempted murder in connection with stabbing of two teens in Cleveland
CLEVELAND, Ohio -- A 19-year-old man is accused of trying to kill a 17-year-old boy after his group vowed to get "street justice" because of an argument.
Jamyne-Armon Bowman-Elize, 19, is charged with attempted murder. He is not in police custody and a warrant was issued Sunday for his arrest.
Bowman-Elize was part of a group that argued Thursday with a group including two boys-- ages 15 and 17-- and an 18-year-old woman at a bus stop on Quincy Avenue near East 47th Street, according to police reports.
The 15-year-old was stabbed twice, once on the left side and once in the back, according to police. The 17-year-old wrestled his attacker to the ground.
Bowman-Elize then got on top of the 17-year-old's back and stabbed him nine times, including twice the neck, once to the back of his head and five times in the upper back, according to court records.
I’m told that one of the demands by the marching adolescents on Saturday was to forbid the sale of guns to those under age 21. That and the Nazi salute by one of the leaders powerfully established this movement as racist of the national socialist persuasion. They logically should adopt a more rational proposal but don't because of their hatred of blacks. But the teen mind (especially that of the news media) is poorly organized and so the obvious point may never make its way through the dimly lit corridors of their brains.
I refer, of course, to the huge gun death toll among young African American men- representing both the perpetrators and victims; There were 5,452 deaths in this demographic in 2011, a statistic easily found. The rate was about 8 times that among comparable white men. The few dozen murdered, mostly white high school kids, doted on on Saturday pale into comparison to the holocaust and correspondingly, number of killers among young black men.
If keeping 21 year olds from buying weapons is proposed as a way to prevent the tragic deaths of a small number of pale public school students, balance would dictate that we extend that same thinking to a much larger demographic, namely young African American men. Denying them the right to buy guns would have a much greater impact on the overall murder rate which is so concentrated on this vulnerable minority. This observation should inspire unquestioning support in the thinking of our PC youthful activists.
The probability that the “movement” will embrace this sage advice, in light of their Nurenberg-inspired massing, -shouting and -use of symbols and will adopt the yoked recommendation denying both black men and under 21 year olds the right to buy guns is nil (and I personally think that both ideas reek.)
Failure to follow this logical evolution of the gun control debate would expose the hidden NSDAP proclivities in this youth.
Here you have a simple act of a healthy democracy; organized protest with topical heft that skirts the identity politics (for the most part) of Washington and puts real pressure on Mr. Transactions himself to do something.
I personally found it uplifting as it gives me hope of more civic involvement in this coming of age generation, one that seems bent on working towards a better tomorrow. :)
It is sad to admit this but I think the existing stock of weapons in the country is so big that the only meaningful method of lasting change would be a mandatory turn-in with compensation like Australia did 20+ years ago.
This will not happen. So even with a total ban on handgun sales this problem will persist until the existing stock rusts with the passage of time.
Donal Trum threatened to kill Stefanie Clifford, aka Stormy Daniels. Donal Trum needs guns to kill her. So he opposes gun control. See this connections?
Make the Rules and Responsibities for owning and actually firing firearms comparable with those for owning and operating Motor Vehicles INCLUDING Insurance, Registration and Strict Responsibility for use of Registered Firearms, and the Gun Cult will quickly DIE and Mass Shootings will become much less common. That is the kind of Fully Constitutional and Common Sense Gun Policy the Vast Majority of Americans would support since guns are inherently more life threatening than Motor Vehicles. The Students have History, Common Sense and latent but powerful Public Support on their side and are rapidly becoming sophisticated enough to beat the heck out of Extremist and Vigilante groups like the NRA!!
This debate is high on emotions and low on facts.
Protesting gun violence is fine. But what causes it ?
Why is the homicide rate in 98% of USA counties comparable to Europe’s ? Why is it so high in the remaining 2% ?
And why has the homicide rate decreased by more than 50% since 1982 ?
Deaths in school shootings are actually down. Unless I’m mistaken, there have been 41 school shooting deaths since 2013, which is 41 too many, but not incredibly high in a country of 330 million over 5 years.
On the topic of « assault weapons », automatic weapons were banned in 1934. Almost all handguns and rifles are semi-automatic. Banning semi-automatic weapons would in effect ban all guns. Won’t happen.
Democrats are trying to make this into a political issue. But, where were Obama and the Democrats when they controlled the White House and congress ?
Guns and butter the eternal arguments go on. If guns win against plentiful butter who do you blame?
Probably for Europeans the most mystifying aspect of the US is there insistence on their right to have firearms, from the Second Amendment. Many in the US treat this Second Amendment as if is the Ten Commandments. It can never be revoked no matter what happens because God inspired creatures created it. In fact it was written by ordinary folk when the US was at the height in lawlessness both from criminals and from Indians. Then there was NO regular police force to defend the people's life or property ,consequently it was imperative to be armed.
The NRA lobby group is a willful immoral organization . It seems that tradition (and profit) is more important to them than human life. In the meantime finally the people are revolting . It had to happen sooner or later, lets hope this is the beginning of sanity!
Hand guns and automatic weapons are for one purpose only - shooting people! The reason that they fall into the hands of the wrong people, aside from laws in certain jurisdictions that allow and support this is simple - greed! Greed for power, greed for wealth and greed for notoriety. I believe the way to end this insanity is not by attacking the outcome, but attacking the cause. By comparison, look at the regulatory requirements and controls necessary to bring a new pharmaceutical drug to market. FDA controls, inventory controls, quality controls etc. If delivering something to market that saves lives is this controlled, then how can it be this easy to flood the market with items intended to take lives? Wake up - something can be easily done about this. It will take a great deal of time, strong commitment and most importantly, the elimination of the sources of greed that make it so easy for people to get their hands on these weapons.
The 2nd Amendment isn't cast in stone.
It is after all, an amendment.
It can be amended, again.
The NRA will have to cough up a lot of funds to future candidates to counter this movement. But in the end money will prevail.
It is very frustrating the Edit button doesn't work. Here you go, another correction -
Last but certainly NOT least... <-- in closing paragraph in immeditately preceding post.
Many apologies for my poor typing skills. With this 3rd post, I have exhausted my allowance under current TE comment rule.
America is full of smart people and smart talents. It is. All Americans should know this.
However, under the present administration, few of them will bother to pitch in in the leadership circle or lower rungs of public service.
Why? Answer is simple as night follows day: Good people get fired, sometimes one day before their retirement pension fully vests, and they are the last to know for the firing takes place on Twitter.
Yup, America is at the apex of its greatness right now. Let's start making a crown with jewels that befits a crown - make sure it is in equally fitting bad taste - gaudy and shiny.
Due to Edit button not working, I am obliged to correct a punctuation typo in previous post by rewriting the corrected punctuation below:
.... (i.e., not anyone who believes the involuntary poor - e.g., the born blind, born crippled, born feeble-brained need help from society)
Last but certainly least, Kudos to the Demonstration. Guns don't kill people. People kill people. And we know who the "people" are, and who they are not.
